This is my sister on a canoe trip in the Arctic. She went up for 40 days and she may not be there anymore but she still has the memories and those will last her a lifetime.

I photoshopped my face in here and used photoshop editing tools to smooth over the original photo to make it less pixelated.

Retro Airplane

I used photoshop to put my friend Nikki's face into this picture of a retro airplane. I used the blur and smudge tools to blend her face to make it seem more like it wasn't photoshopped.

Artist Statement

Photography and emotion are interlaced. You cannot have a good photo that has no emotion behind. If there is no emotion it can’t be thought provoking for others. If there’s no emotion it’s just a picture. I try to put as much emotion as possible into my photos so viewers will have a lot to think about.
Street photography is a public photo with a great composition taken where other people might go. I tried to think about a photo before I took it. To see what kind of photo it would turn out to be. Will it have a great composition and how will I be able to edit it so it turns into an amazing photo?
I really wanted my photography to be colorful with good contrast when I was done editing them and I believe I did that. I like that the color in my photography is very bright and very different from the other colors within the photo. I had very limited tools at my disposal when I was editing my photos. I had just the paint bucket and adjusting the color tones and brightness.
One photographer I really admire is Richard Avedon. He is a great fashion photographer. I cannot even compare my work with his. He puts forth so much emotion in his photography it’s incredible. I wish I could capture photos like he can.
I believe the emotion I put into every photo I work with comes out onto the page and that makes me joyous.

Shadowed

This is my favorite photo so far. I used photoshop to really make the shadow pop and i made it so the leaves and the shadow contrast each other with blue and orange.

Traffic

This looks like just a normal thing that happens to everyone. you get stopped at a stop light and the traffic lines up.

Injured

I like this because the lights on the ambulance really pop and its the first thing that your eyes go to when you see the photo.

Emergency.

This is my first photo for the street photography unit. I like it because you normally hear ambulances but you never see them go by your house. So this was interesting to me.

The Portage

I like this photo because it's not a normal photo. It isn't "pretty", it's interesting and makes you think about what was going on.

When I see this photo I think of chemistry. and school. I like how the camera is lined up. Instead of being lined up with the edge of the binder its parallel to the page.

This is a photo of the tomatoes we got from my grandpa's farm. It's not that sharp of a photo but i like the color and how bright the colors are.

The composition of this photo makes it look eerie and mysterious. I feel like this dog is kind of staring you down and it seems like she means I'm coming for you.

This is a very interesting photo because of the angle of the camera going up into the tree. You can see the light coming through the leavesand it outlines them which makes each one more distinct and visible

Playtime

Heidi looks very happy in this photo. She is in motion which makes this photo more interesting. The pizza box in the right upperhand corner of the photo is in an odd place and it makes you wonder why it's there.

Buzzzz

This has an interesting composition with the bee just sitting on the flower and the hand drawing towards it. It makes you think why the hand is going for the flower with the bee, do they want to get stung?

Heidi

This is a simple photo and it seems like Heidi is interested by the "spark" on the right side of the screen. She looks happy.

Reach the sun

I took this at my school Highland Park. I love the angle and the flower looks amazing.

Distress.

This photo was taken when me and my family were playing a game and my brothers girlfriend Nikki was in distress. I think the emotion is really etched on her face.

Splashes away the day

This photo is one of my favorites. I took it two summers ago on a canoe trip. I like it because I took the picture when my feet were in motion and it turned out really well.

This is a picture of my cat that i took when she came in to eat after wandering around my neighborhood for a few hours.
